OVERRIDING THE WINDOWS MIXER
If you're using a multi-monitor setup, you might want your game audio to play through your speakers and Discord to play through your headset. AudioBind's standard Monitor Rules handle this perfectly—until you drag the Discord window over to your primary monitor to read a message, and the audio suddenly switches to your speakers.
To prevent this, you need a Persistent Application Rule. App Rules in AudioBind hard-lock a specific executable (like `discord.exe`) to a specific audio output, completely overriding any monitor-based routing logic.
⚡ Short version: Download AudioBind → Open App Rules → Select App → Select Output → Done. The app will never switch outputs again, no matter where the window goes.
HOW TO SET UP AN APP RULE
Follow these quick steps to hard-lock any application using AudioBind v1.2.
DOWNLOAD AUDIOBIND
Install AudioBind from the Microsoft Store or via getaudiobind.com.
OPEN SETTINGS & NAVIGATE TO APP RULES
Right-click the AudioBind system tray icon and open the Settings. At the top of the Visual Canvas, click on the App Rules tab.
CREATE THE HARD-LOCK
Click "Add Rule". Use the Native App Picker to select the application you want to lock (e.g., Spotify, Discord, or a specific game). Then, select the audio output device from the dropdown. Save your changes.
NEVER BABYSIT YOUR AUDIO AGAIN
Once you set an App Rule, it's permanent. You can drag the window anywhere, minimize it, or close and reopen the app. AudioBind's background daemon will ensure the audio always routes to your selected device instantly.
